Program Summary
American Medical Academy (AMA) is offering US Medical System Training for the qualified foreign medical graduates (for qualified junior doctors); this program is for candidates who have completed his/her Medical degree from outside of US Medical Universities/Schools. This program is offering with the cooperation of AMA’s teaching partner hospitals and partner healthcare organizations and the program include 22 weeks of observation and training. The 12 months of US medical system preparatory program will be conducted at AMA’s s facility in Atlanta and other healthcare training locations and hospitals throughout USA.
The program consists of 500 hours of theories, including Medical communication skills, US medical terminology and other relevant medical subjects (review courses and theory classes are as per the US Medical system; these include the Medical ethics, American medical laws related treatment and Patient care, and general US healthcare regulations, etc.,) and up to 22 weeks of practical training at the US teaching hospitals, clinics and other healthcare facilities.
This program also allows the candidate to lean & improve the medical skills by observing the methods of US clinical care and can also become more familiar with the cultures of the American Medical environment. Upon completion of the program, candidates would receive certificates. The AMA’s US training and the program completion certificates would also improve the chances for the candidate to get the US residency opportunity, for those qualified candidates.
American Medical Academy offers the program throughout the year and qualified candidates can start the program every other month (six times per year):
Program Overview:
1. 500 hours of lessons
The program is designed for candidates who have graduated from the non-US Medical universities and would like to acquire the necessary US medical & healthcare technical skills and (field) linguistic knowledge for the exercise of the medical occupation.
Contents:
Introduction to the US health system
Enlargement of the general linguistic competence and Technical language medicine
Analyzation technics, investigation, X-ray picture description
Communication typical for field doctor – patient / doctor – doctor
Understanding and for handing over medical protocols
Preparation of medical reports
Understanding of professional talks and professional discussions
Communication theory and communication technologies
Intercultural training
2. Practical training:

During the practical training period, candidates can get weekly monitoring and Evaluation: AMA’s training staff will communicate with the observer and the Physician each week to make sure the goals of the training objectives are being met.
