The Bachelor Sports Medicine and Rehabilitation (it is also known as “Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation”) program of American Medical Academy (AMA) is a four years degree program with 263 credits. The program is par with the top American and European standards of Sports Medicine and Rehabilitation program.

It is the prevention of injury and the advanced physical rehabilitation methods which are currently using makes the sports medicine and rehabilitation so important in our present day global community. With the rapidly growing number of amateur athletes entering the sports community today, proper technique and comprehensive knowledge of the problems associated with various types of exercise and sport, as well as with the anatomy and physiology, involved is a necessity. Sports Medicine and Rehabilitation specialists play a key role in all kinds of physical injury recoveries in the modern medical field. Biomechanics is often the link pulling together all the aspects of the field to create a much more successful endeavor.

Our sports medicine and rehabilitation bachelor degree program’s qualified graduates can apply and obtain license after passing the required US qualification and in the European Union countries and USA as a certified athletic trainer, while others can go for the graduate (masters) study in medicine, physical therapy, physical rehabilitation specialist for treating various kinds of physical injuries or can take jobs in other healthcare fields world-wide.

For getting admission

Eligibility Criteria for the Bachelor Degree in Sports Medicine and Rehabilitation program is open to any individual who is physically and mentally fit with a minimum education qualification of 12 years of schooling from candidate’s home country with science subjects with minimum “B” grade point average; also candidate have to successfully complete AMA’s preparatory program.

To apply for the Preparatory program and for the four years Bachelor Degree in Sports Medicine and Rehabilitation, each candidate must fulfill the following criteria.

  • All candidates must have minimum 12 years of schooling with science subjects (With documentation to prove that the last two years of studies) with medium of instruction as English (if the original academic documents are not written in English, it must be translated in to English and notarized, this is applicable to only international candidates only). Also all academic documents must be “apostle”.

  • Candidate must have taken Science subjects including minimum one year of physics during the 10 to 12 years of study period with minimum “B” grade point average.

  • The international candidates should have no police records. A Police Clearance certificate (PCC) is mandatory (candidate must bring this document when she/he comes to US for the studies).

  • International candidate should have proper medical insurance during his/her entire study period in US.

  • Candidate should provide two recommendation letters.

Documents Required

Each candidate should submit the following documents to AMA admission office during the process of application if he/she wishes to apply using the application form (If not applied online):

  1. Application for the preparatory program and for the Bachelor Degree in Sports Medicine & Rehabilitation program dully filled and signed.

  2. Copy of their valid passport (all pages with printed and written information)

  3. Certificate of completion of their 12th year of schooling with science subjects (Must be “apostille” by the ministry of Education)

  4. Birth Certificate and Police Clearance certificate (PCC), these documents candidate can bring it along when he/she arrives in USA (this is applicable only to international candidates only).

  5. Recommendation letter from two individuals known to the candidate

  • Documents 2nd to 4th must be notary attested and can be scanned and send to AMA .

  • All original documents that are not in English must be translated in to English and Notarized

Documents required for the Official Admission (The following documents are to be brought to the Academy on arrival in US for verification process; this is applicable for the international candidates).

  • All original certificates (School certificates, Birth certificate, PCC)

  • Two sets of Notary attested copies of all Educational certificates, Birth certificate, and copy of Passport

  • Medical Insurance as per the US regulations (applicable to international candidates only)

  • Medical fitness certificate

  • Proof of financial stability to bear the Accommodation and food expenses during their stay in USA. (We recommended that each international candidate must have at least $ 1,000 per month for expenses for Accommodation and food, personal expenses are not included.)

  • Biometric Photographs (3cm by 4cm - This can be taken in USA, for international students)

  • Acceptance and Offer:

    Once AMA admission office receives the dully filled and signed application form along with the document required for enrollment, the admission board review and verifies these documents. On finding the documents in order, it is then checked with the appropriate authorities for verification and acceptance of the candidate for the program. Then AMA sends a conditional offer letter to the candidate and then requires the candidate to make the initial payment specified in the offer letter. The candidate also has to fulfill all other criteria specified on the offer letter.

    Once the American Medical Academy and the authorities accepts the candidates, then AMA admission office issues the candidate with the confirmation and invitation letter. This is a very important document and this will enable the international candidate to clear her/his immigration and receive the entry visa at the Border of US territories. The invitation letter is also a very important document, after the candidate’s visa is approved, this document will enable the candidate’s to clear the immigration and receive the entry visa at the Border (airport), in USA.

    Confirmation and Fees:

    On receipt of the confirmation letter from the AMA’s office and after candidate receive the US entry visa the candidate must start preparation for the travel to USA (international candidates). The candidate has to make the payment “full tuition fee” for the academic year before their arrival. Please be advised that if any fee remains pending, the candidate will not be accepted at the AMA or will not receive permission for entry into the country. The candidate is also to have documentary proof that he/she has sufficient means to maintain himself/herself for the period of studies as per the USA regulations. (Each individual must have approximately USD 1,000 per month or more living expenses). The international candidates are to arrive in USA and in the AMA no later than the date specified on the confirmation and invitation letter.

    Tuition Fee for the Program:

    The Tuition fee for the international students (fee for the pre-medicine and medicine program and for the Bachelor Degree and Masters Degree in Sports Medicine) for 2019 academic year will be announced in the future or check the local representative prior to start the program.

    Travel and arrival:

    It is advised that international candidates make arrangement early, as costs of tickets go up closer to the date of travel. They must check with the travel agents regarding the route, total time required for the journey and any stop over during the journey. The candidates should have all the documents prepared and kept ready in originals and in Two sets of Notary attested copies (all documents required as mentioned in the “documents required” section). Travel document are to be kept safe at all times.

    On arrival at US airport the candidates will be picked up by the impendent representatives (AMA’s approved independent representative) and briefed on their arrangements and reporting date & time at the AMA. They will then be taking to the accommodation arranged for them (agent’s representative will arrange student’s accommodation but AMA do NOT have any role in arranging student’s accommodation OR students can arrange her/his own accommodation). A general orientation is given to the students on the place of stay and movement around the area.

    Opportunities for Successful Graduates: American Medical Academy has partnership with many healthcare organizations/institutions in the US and in overseas. Those students who successfully complete their studies and can apply for different locations for paid practical training (also some potential US based healthcare group would visit the campus for recruiting potential candidates for their organization as trainee). AMA would try to assist the potential health care US and other International employers to conduct job fair or paid training program announcements at the campus (this would be for the final year students only) and the actual deal has to be made between the candidate and with the healthcare employer/organizations.
